OSAKA, Japan, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Smartee Denti-Technology participated in the 5th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japan Digital Orthodontic Society, held on September 6 under the theme "Deepening Digital Orthodontics — Clinical Innovation in the Age of AI." During the meeting, Smartee presented its clinical solutions for clear aligner treatment alongside AI-enabled digital tools designed to support orthodontic practice.

As digital orthodontics continues to develop in Japan, clinical management of more complex malocclusions remains an important area of professional discussion. At the meeting, Dr. Tao Guo, a Smartee speaker and member of Prof. Gang Shen’s orthodontic team, delivered a presentation titled "A Novel Clear S8-SGTB Correcting Severe Class II Jaw Discrepancy in Adults."

Class II malocclusion often involves upper-lower jaw discrepancy and facial convexity, with traditional treatments ranging from extraction to orthognathic surgery. Smartee believes not all Class II cases require these approaches.  Prof. Gang Shen’s new diagnostic and classification system of malocclusion helps identify cases suitable for mandibular advancement repositioning. At the meeting, Dr. Guo introduced this approach through S8-SGTB, focusing on case selection and integration with clear aligner treatment. For selected patients, this may reduce the need for extraction or surgery.

Beyond clinical solutions, Smartee has developed AI-enabled tools, such as Oral Health Report, Live 3D, Live Update, and Root Visualization, to support clinical assessment, treatment planning, workflow efficiency, and patient communication. The goal is to make digital technology empowers clinician’s everyday practice, helping doctors and patients work together to address orthodontic problems. This aligns directly with the meeting’s theme of deepening digital orthodontics through clinical innovation in the age of AI.

With the establishment of Smartee Denti-Technology Japan Co., Ltd. in Osaka, the company is strengthening local engagement. "Japan has a strong clinical foundation and growing interest in digital orthodontics. We value direct academic exchange with Japanese doctors and want to better understand the needs of the local market," said Mr. Garie Zhou, Director of International Business Development at Smartee.

Through academic activities, clinical exchange, and professional education, Smartee continues to deepen its engagement with dental professionals across Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
