SINGAPORE, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For a growing wave of travelers, the trip starts with a line-up. Rather than picking a city and finding something to do, they pick a music festival and build the whole holiday around it. Two forces are driving it: global dance events are expanding rapidly across Asia, landing everywhere from major hubs to quiet islands, and superfans now think nothing of crossing a border for a weekend set they can’t catch at home.

Digital travel platform Agoda has picked out six Asian destinations where the music is the reason to go, from the region’s best-known dance floors to the islands and coastlines building a scene of their own.

Mumbai, India
India’s trance and dance-music capital gets a new stage this year as Sunburn relocates its flagship event to Mahalaxmi Racecourse, bringing global headliners into the heart of the city. Beyond the festival, Mumbai boasts gems such as the Gothic-Victorian arches of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the sea-facing promenade of Marine Drive, the street-food stalls of Mohammed Ali Road, and Crawford Market piled high with spice and produce.

Taipei, Taiwan
Along the Dajia Riverside Park, Road to Ultra Taiwan brings the brand’s mainstage production and international headliners to the capital each year. Away from the speakers, the city rewards wandering. Taipei 101 anchors the skyline, the old mining town of Jiufen climbs a hillside of lantern-lit teahouses, Beitou’s hot springs steam beside a quiet river, and the night markets at Shilin and Raohe fill with skewers, stinky tofu and shaved ice until late.

Busan, South Korea
Korea’s seaside second city turns up the heat with Waterbomb Busan, the summer festival where DJ sets and hip-hop headliners meet cooling water cannons over the crowd. Elsewhere in the city, Haeundae Beach stretches wide and golden against a skyline of towers, Gamcheon Culture Village tumbles down a hillside in stacked pastel houses and narrow painted stairways, and Jagalchi market keeps its stalls loud with the slap and shine of the day’s catch.

Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
This laid-back Gulf island has hosted the Full Moon Party at Haad Rin beach every month since the late 1990s, when body paint, fire shows and a wall of speakers along the sand turn one night into the region’s longest-running beach rave. Away from the monthly crowd, the island slows right down with Thong Nai Pan’s quieter beaches at the northern tip, waterfalls through the jungle interior, and viewpoints along the coastal roads over the Gulf of Thailand.

Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia
Perched on limestone cliffs above the surf, Bali’s southern tip has built one of Asia’s most serious clifftop club scenes, with venues like Savaya and Omnia hosting international DJs against an open-air ocean backdrop. Between sets, catch the sunset Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu Temple, surf the reef breaks at Bingin and Padang Padang, or take the boat across to the Nusa islands.

Chonburi, Thailand
Out in the countryside beyond Pattaya, Wonderfruit transforms The Fields at Siam Country Club each December into an immersive world of electronic stages, art installations and all-night dancing. The province also holds the towering carved Sanctuary of Truth, the tropical gardens at Nong Nooch and boat trips to quieter Ko Larn.

Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President, Supply at Agoda, said: "The line-up has become the destination, and people are choosing where to travel by who is on the bill, whether this be a stage in the middle of a city or one built on a beach. At Agoda, we make sure that once someone commits to the festival, the stay right beside it is easy to find, wherever that trip takes them next."

From city stages to clifftop clubs, these are trips measured in beats per minute. Beyond music festivals, Agoda is also teaming up with the region’s most exciting entertainment moments, including a partnership with Eurovision Asia as its Official Travel Partner.
