At the M360 ASEAN Keynote session, Calvin Zhao, President of MAE Product Line, Wireless Network Solution, Huawei, shared Huawei’s vision for the future of intelligent mobile networks. He commented, "As ASEAN’s digital economy enters the intelligent age, AI Agents are reshaping industries and redefining wireless network. Huawei Agentic MBB drives the shift from cost reduction to revenue growth, while OpenAN (Autonomous Network) delivers open-source architecture and agent interface standards powering the network backbone of the digital economy."

At the Digital Trust Summit, Huawei highlighted the importance of resilient digital infrastructure in strengthening trust across ASEAN. The session explored how AI-enabled early warning systems, satellite connectivity and robust networks can help safeguard communities, support economic continuity and enhance societal resilience. Huawei called upon the need for proactive preparedness, energy resilience and stronger public-private collaboration to build trusted digital nations.

Huawei’s commitment to accelerating intelligent transformation across Asia Pacific was also recognized at the GSMA APAC Digital Nation Awards 2026, where Huawei received the ‘Excellence in Innovation Video Award’ . The award recognized Huawei’s collaboration with XLSMART Indonesia on an integrated 5G SD-WAN solution designed for SMEs, helping businesses across retail, banking, education and other industrial sectors deploy secure and simplified connectivity with improved operational efficiency.

Beyond pioneering technology showcases and leading industry discussions, Huawei has also been contributing to broader industry insights and research on AI transformation. In collaboration with GSMA Intelligence, Huawei supported the development of the latest research report, "AI and the token economy: telco role, telco value," that provides a strategic framework for how telcos can take new roles and capture new growth opportunities in the emerging AI economy.

Anchored with the APAC regional momentum, the research explores emerging telco roles in the AI value chain and monetization models around AI tokens, intelligent routing, and national-scale edge infrastructure to enable value creation. Highlighting this critical inflection point, Mr. Terry He, President of Huawei Asia Pacific Region, emphasized that as accelerating 5G growth unlocks USD 1.4 trillion in economic value by 2030, AI will catalyse hyper-intelligent connections, driving telcos to leverage their ubiquitous network assets and trusted identity to build autonomous, open foundations for the regional AI ecosystem. This publication is specifically engineered for telco executives, government policymakers, industry and digital ecosystem leaders seeking to understand the underlying economics and intelligent transformations shaping next-generation AI infrastructure and digital future.

Through technology innovation, industry collaboration and ecosystem partnerships, Huawei continues to work with operators, governments and enterprises across Asia Pacific to advance intelligent connectivity and enable a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable digital future.
